Jum’s pant shop in Din Daeng Bangkok

I have known Jum for a couple of years now.  Not only is she an excellent pant maker but she also lives and works among the expert shirt and jacket makers that all the Sukhumvit tailors use to produce their products.  Jum has been making pants for over 15 years and makes pants for some of the most renown tailor shops in Bangkok.

Not only does Jum make spectacular custom pants but she is known by and knows all the workers in the other shops on the Soi.  She knows who is producing the best quality of shirts and jackets.  The shops even though doing the same job every day and as many other shops in the area their quality will vary from shop to shop and some shops from time to time.  An example is if the head cutter or stitcher goes home for holiday.  Some may be fighting with their wives and their attention is not focused on their job, could be a number of reasons for the quality to differ.  Jum knows what is going on all the time.

My suggestion if you want a high quality custom suit and shirts, go to Jum.  Jum will personally walk you to the different shops that specialize in what your looking for.  If you want a casual loose fitting jacket instead of a tightly tailored jacket Jum will know the best shop to go to.  A tuxedo vs a business suit, Jum can lead you in the right direction.

As a foreigner going into a Thai only area you can count on the prices you pay to increase exponentially. These shops know what the tailors on Sukhumvit charge and will try to charge you the same price if you go in unaccompanied.  If you go in with Jum you will get the proper wholesale price that is charged to the tailor shops along Sukhumvit.

Be sure not to forget to bring your own material as non of the shops in Jum’s immediate area carry fabrics.
