The Internet in Thailand is one that is closely watched by the Thai Gov’t. Recently they have talked about using a single international gateway so the Gov’t can monitor all the incoming and outgoing Internet traffic. Of course the Gov’t says it is for security reasons. After a public outcry from the “Net-Citizens” of Thailand the Gov’t said they would re-think the single gateway policy.
A lot of the world sites such as Netflix used to be blocked in Thailand, not by the Thai Gov’t but by the sites themselves. Now Netflix is available in Thailand as in other countries but the content is not the same as the USA or the UK. VPN is one answer to getting the Shows you have come accustomed to, unfortunately I can not tell you if VPN’s are legal in Thailand or not. I have come across some internet sites that say they are legal but I have also heard Gov’t has declared them illegal. Be sure to check before setting one up for yourself.
